If you know me, you know I don’t believe in putting on a show. It’s almost impossible for me to lie, sugar coat, or pretend. So, respectfully, I’ll spare you the motivational bullshit where I act like you’ve all got problems and I’ve got all the answers.
I am stuck. Most days I am lost in the frenzy of productivity just to distract myself from the real question that lingers just below the surface: Am I living a life I’m proud of? Because I’m afraid the answer might be no.
I’ve spent many sleepless nights wondering why it’s so hard to live in alignment with my values of ruthless generosity and social balance. Well, I go to therapy, so I know the answer... worthiness fears. I’m scared to death of being average. It’s the antithesis of my hero’s journey. My--worked-ass-off-to-get-here story I tell myself and others makes me feel like I deserve happiness. And things. And financial security. But that sense of entitlement has me tangled up with an identity worthy of questioning. It’s 2021 and I’m fragile, y’all.
I’m pretty sure some of you feel like that too. In fact, I know it. More than 85% of the people who have enrolled in Un-Professional, our 1:1 and team coaching offering, have selected Getting Un-Stuck as their challenge track. No joke. We are collectively in a damn rut! And it’s the existential kind.
So, this month I would love for you to explore your own stuckness. What’s getting in your way of a life well-lived?
Listen to one of my professional crushes, Shankar Vedantam from Hidden Brain, talk about how to ensure we’re solving the right problem as the best way to get un-stuck.
As for me, this is my bold action: As one of the designers of Un-Professional, this is my first attempt at creating something I believe the world needs and doing it with conviction. So join me. Let’s muster up those courageous spirits and work through this collective rut together. It’s our shot to rethink what’s not working and make our mark. I can’t wait to hear what you try!

For us, BOLD action is a remedy. It’s identifying the real why, or fear, behind a problem and then fistfighting that fear with an action that forces you to question your “truths.” But what the heck is a BOLD action and how do you know if you’re doing it right?
